The Brothers Dragon: Beyond Land’s End

A Trilogy

By J.F. Baker

Can you be brave when it matters most?

When 12-year-old Luke Walsh finds his way through a magical portal leading to the island of Draksmore, he stumbles upon a huge secret: everyone in his family has the power to turn into a dragon; but when Luke’s little brother is captured by pirates who want dragon power for themselves, Luke must find a way to overcome his biggest fear in order to earn his wings before his brother—and all of Draksmore—is destroyed.

“The Brothers Dragon: Beyond Land’s End” is the first in a trilogy about the Walsh brothers, Luke and Nick, as they explore their mysterious new gifts—and get to know the peculiar family they never knew they had.

“Readers of all ages will be swept up in by the captivating prose, gripping plot, and the easy way that each of Baker’s characters appears fully formed and relatable from the start. As the tension rose and the surprising conclusion approached, I was incapable of putting the book down. Thankfully, the ending suggests more are coming! Extraordinarily fun and readable, The Brothers Dragon is a formidable new middle grade novel.”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“A remarkable debut middle-grade novel by author J.F. Baker! This tale surrounding family and brotherhood is perfect for kiddos who crave fantasy. Like Harry Potter meets Disney’s Onward, the book is full of adventure, laughs, and endearing moments. The lively pages contain characters who all have their own fears and quirks. Definitely hard to put down. I’d recommend this to my students ages 10-13.”
