JF Baker’s Kindle-Exclusive Ghost Story Tops Amazon Charts

JF Baker’s Kindle-exclusive ghost story, THE HAUNTING OF DARLINGTON BOARDWALK, has broken into the Top Ten in three different Amazon categories this week: 90-Min Teen & Young Adult Short Reads, 90-Minute Mysteries, and Ghost Suspense.

Synopsis: When bootstrapping boardwalk owner Roscoe Sterling buys a used carousel to revive his Depression-era seaside attraction, he expects nickels and crowds—not a calliope that screams at 3 a.m. and a woman with milk-white eyes drifting through the rain. The ride came from Avonberry Park, where a suspicious inferno ended a marriage and a business—yet the burn-streaked horses and their haunting waltz have found a new home on the New Jersey shore.

As Roscoe races to assemble the carousel before Memorial Day, the woman’s ghost keeps returning, wrists bound, hair blood-slick. What Roscoe witnesses in the mirrors and gears sends him to a small town where he learns there’s more to the carousel’s history than he’d ever imagined. As Roscoe spirals into alcoholism and sleep deprivation, he faces a choice—save his investment or face the truth buried in ash.

Told in taut, cinematic chapters with Gothic atmosphere, supernatural suspense, and a final image you won’t shake, The Haunting at Darlington Boardwalk is a perfect one-sitting read for fans of eerie historical fiction, haunted-object tales, and storm-soaked seaside settings.

UNRAVELING by Andrew C. Peterson is Available Now

Happy publishing day to author Andrew C. Peterson, who’s debut novel, UNRAVELING, is released today.

Adrian Tannhauser came home from Iraq alive-but survival came at a cost.

A roadside bomb killed two of his closest brothers-in-arms and left Adrian carrying scars that never truly healed. Years later, he has built a new life as a private investigator in Boston, helping others find answers while avoiding the questions that haunt him. Carrying a cane, a gun, and his ghosts, he keeps moving forward, one case at a time.

Then the last man who survived the explosion with him takes his own life.

Now, the old memories resurface, and the weight of survival grows heavier. As he sinks into isolation, Adrian must confront a terrifying truth: saving others is easier than saving himself.

Spanning a series of interconnected mysteries, Unraveling follows Adrian through the cases that define his second life-and the personal reckoning that threatens to destroy it. Each story stands alone, but together they reveal a haunting portrait of grief, survivor’s guilt, and a man slowly coming undone.

The Widow of Hartforde chosen as a 2026 Featured Title by American Book Fest

THE WIDOW OF HARTFORDE has been chosen as a 2026 Featured Title by American Book Fest.

About The Book

A chilling historical horror novel of witch trials, survival, and the true monster hiding among us.

Connecticut Colony, 1662

During a midnight witch trial, an unsettlingly woman confesses to making a pact with the Devil—after encountering a terrifying beast in the woods. Her words send a shiver through newcomer Rebecca Easton. She’s seen that creature too.

But when Rebecca dares to speak the truth, suspicion turns on her. Accusations fly. The townspeople whisper. And now, she too is facing the judge.

To save her, Rebecca’s husband Caleb—Hartforde’s devout reverend—strikes a horrifying bargain: the beast will be found before sunrise… or Rebecca will hang.

As Rebecca leads the search party into the dark forest to chase down danger, Caleb uncovers a deeper, deadlier secret—one that exposes the judge’s hidden agenda and forces the town to confront the real evil lurking behind the witch hunts.

A gripping standalone for fans of The Witch, Year of Wonders, and dark historical fiction with a supernatural twist.

Combining folklore, feminist horror, and true events from one of America’s earliest witch trials, this novel delivers atmospheric suspense, richly layered characters, and a haunting mystery that won’t let go.
